Yesterday I had to leave school early. I felt so exhausted. I told the folks I was sick and, not having taken byokyu (sick leave) all year, I got to go home after Difficult Sensei's class. Then I slept from about 10am-5pm. I had some weird dreams. In one of which fireballs were falling from the sky.
I wasn't here in the dream. I was in Athens-not-Athens.
I dream about copies of actual places a lot.
I don't know what it means. I guess if I write it down now I can revisit it later.
And this weekend I had a dream in which I was visiting a covered shopping area. Not specifically the one in my town, but that same style. The bigger spaces were lit, but there were paths extending from the main area that were completely dark. There were no people around, and I was trying to get back to the main road. An uncovered and bright place. There were no people around, so I was trying to run. But I couldn't. Rather I was running in that stupid slow motion that you do in dreams.
Today was much better. Especially since I got to go to my class of smartasses today. I always tell the kids not to be afraid of making mistakes, and these kids really follow that advice. When we were asking the kids if they knew the meanings of certain English words from the new chapter in Japanese, one of which was "whether." One boy actually gave the Japanese word for "weather."
It was great that he was actually trying!
