Procrastination

Right now I'm procrastinating. I need to write my mixi blog. This is the Japanese version of Myspace. However, it's a little less colorful.

Last night I tried to have a potluck dinner party. I invited a bunch of people, but everyone was either sick or busy. Only 2 people came.

I wanted to make margaritas because I had bought some mix when I went home, so I went to the liquour store near my house. In the whole time I've been here, I've never gone there. It was pretty great. I walked into the office and couldn't look at their inventory because there so much of it which was stored in another part of the building. I started to ask in Japanese, but the woman came back with, "What do you want?" I asked for tequila and she came back with 6 different kinds. She started talking about how tequila had become at least twice as expensive in the last 2-3 years because the agave cactus was being harvested faster than it could grow back.

Today I slept in and went to the salon. Against the recommendation of my stylist, I got my hair cut shorter. I wanted it because it gets so hot here in the summer time. Even though I heard that we will have an air conditioned space during the construction this summer I still have to sweat in the un-air conditioned classrooms until that time comes.

My hair is now bright red with lighter red and blond highlights. I really like this salon. The owner speaks English and orders products from the U.K. She studied at the Vidal Sassoon Institute in London.

After that I went to see my friend at his bookshop and hung out for about 2 hours. He said that since it's too hot to read in the summer time, he might go to India in August.

Last night I made a whole bunch of chicken curry in expectation of company. Since he wasn't able to come over and my two guests didn't eat any, I had lunch, today's dinner and maybe tomorrow's lunch in my fridge.
