Writing, Reading and Keeping Track

Yesterday I successfully submitted an application for Wonderroot's Walthall Artist Fellowship program. Now for the the part that's almost as hard as pulling together my application: temporarily detaching myself from the outcome.

Luckily I have plenty to do.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I have been sharing a lot of great quotes from the books that I have been reading. As part of my Miracle Morning challenge, I have committed to reading at least 30 minutes in the morning before working on anything else. Since my TBR pile is so huge, I set a timer and read 3 books at 10 minutes a piece.

What am I reading? Well, I have started keeping track on Goodreads.com. I have set up one "shelf" for dye and pigment books and another for reading recommendations that have been published by the painting department at the Savannah College of Art and Design. (I listed as many of their suggestions as I could. You'll find everything on this Pinterest board. It includes essays that they suggest as well.)

You may find a few surface design and fabric books mixed in as I have a box full of silk scraps that Hellenne Vermillion was kind enough to send to me. I need to (1) figure out how to work with silk and (2) find the time to do it!
